Georgia Fields – Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Georgia Fields’ upcoming album (due for release in August 2010) will be full of vivid and fascinating sounds, innocent lyrics, and charming vocals if this first single is anything to go by.
From first note to the last it seems Fields has embellished her reputation for unusual sounds, experimenting with childlike toy samples and noises. Apparently live performances are a spectacle, with a mini 12-piece orchestra, including string sections, woodwind and brass – and all of this is so wonderfully apparent in this first single, ‘Something Borrowed, Something Blue’.
Lyrically, Fields plays with recent relationships with a joyful innocence, “misery likes company, and I don’t feel like hanging around.” Both B tracks on the single, ‘Sinking Relation Ship’, and ‘Happy Accidents’, are both lovely intricate measurements of what’s to come from this indie songstress.
Definitely something new.
